SMSC (Incorporating Community Cohesion)

(Incorporating Community Cohesion)

Darrick Wood Infant and Nursery School is committed to ensuring that it helps all learners within their community to become members of a welcoming and cohesive community to fit them for life in England whose population has an increasingly rich diversity of backgrounds, origins, beliefs and cultures. We will help all within our care to belong and to feel equally valued as members of our school and as citizens and residents of Orpington and the United Kingdom.

At Darrick Wood Infant and Nursery School we recognise that the personal development of children, spiritually, morally, socially and culturally plays a significant role in their learning and achievement. Our aim is to promote high standards of personal behaviour and therefore aspects of SMSC development are planned across the curriculum and embedded in the ethos of the school.

We believe that our school's role is crucial, and by creating opportunities for children's achievement and by enabling every child and young person to achieve their potential, our school makes a significant to long-term community cohesion.

We make our curriculum as exciting as possible so that children enjoy this aspect of learning. Please enjoy browsing some of the activities you and/or your children have participated in.

Thank you for your continued support.
